Traditional ritual of the closing ceremony. The IOC and OCOG Presidents mount the rostrum. To the sounds of the Greek national anthem, the Greek flag is hoisted on the pole that stands to the left of the Olympic flag’s central pole. The flag of the host country of the next Olympic Games is hoisted on the Olympic flag’s right-hand pole to the strains of its anthem.
